In 1954 locally born and raised Mervin Pritchard saw the opportunity to start his own business. At the young age of 23 he started his business on the corner of 10th and Walnut street, which use to be a Standard gas station.  He managed that business for a few years, then took over a brand new Gulf station on the corner of 5th and Rogers which is now a BP Food Mart. In 1961 Mervin then took over a brand new Texaco station at 10th and Indiana, finally in 1985 he bought the property off of Texaco and is now Citgo Service Center.

By his side then and now, his son Jeff Pritchard manages the family business and has been running the wrecker business side since 1972. In 2002 the Pritchard's opened another automotive repair center at 6015 East State Road 45 near Unionville, with Jeff's wife Shirley managing that location.
